Georgia reports 11 new cases of coronavirus, 40 recoveries

Georgia has reported 11 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and 40 recoveries.
Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that one new patient contracted the virus from the Lenjeri village of Mestia municipality, six from contact from infected individuals, four cases were ‘imported’ of which one is a truck driver.
Currently 230 people are undergoing treatment at Covid centres of which four are in critical and 17 are in severe condition", said Ezurgbaia.
In total 1,190 have recovered from Covid-19 in Georgia, 19 people have died of the virus in the country, 6,010 people are in quarantine, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.

Georgia’s Russia-occupied Abkhazia region has placed the village of Labra under a 14-day quarantine amid a coronavirus outbreak. The region’s de facto health ministry announced earlier today that a total of five coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the village in recent days, including one death.
Georgia’s Black Sea region of Adjara has increased testing in the region following several infections in a night club in Kobuleti on August 15.
