Georgia reports 7 new cases of coronavirus

Georgia has reported seven new cases of the coronavirus earlier today.
Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that one new patient contracted the virus from contact from infected individuals, four cases were ‘imported’ of which one is a truck driver and two are medical workers.
Ezurgbaia added that currently 259 people are undergoing treatment at Covid centres.

In total 1,150 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Georgia, 19 people have died of the virus in the country, 6,018 people are in quarantine, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 1,436 cases of the coronavirus.
Georgia’s Russia-occupied Abkhazia region has placed the village of Labra under a 14-day quarantine amid a coronavirus outbreak. The region’s de facto health ministry announced earlier today that a total of five coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the village in recent days, including one death.
Georgia’s Black Sea region of Adjara has increased testing in the region following several infections in a night club in Kobuleti on August 15.
A nineteenth person has died from coronavirus in Georgia, while eight more people have tested positive for COVID-19 and the number of recoveries has increased by 13. One new patient contracted the virus from the Lenjeri village of Mestia municipality, two from contact from infected individuals, four cases were ‘imported’ of which three are truck drivers and one is a medical worker.
An eighteenth person has died from coronavirus in Georgia, reports StopCov.ge, the state-run website created in March 2020 to inform the public about the coronavirus situation in the country. A total of 1,421 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country. 1,137 people have recovered. 7,005 people are in quarantine and 255 are under medical supervision at hospitals.
Kindergartens and theaters will be opened on October 1 in Georgia, while schools and cinemas will open on September 15, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has announced.
