Total of nine coronavirus cases confirmed in Kazbegi

Nine coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Kazbegi municipality, eastern Georgia,  said Mayor of Kazbegi municipality Alexandre Zagashvili, noting the ‘epidemiological situation is calm and under control.’

Zagashvili noted that all the cases are related to employees of the Larsi checkpoint, at the Russia-Georgia border in Kazbegi.

Zagashvili said that the contacts of the coronavirus-infected Larsi employees have been identified.

The coronavirus confirmed contacts were brought to the hospital. Other contacts of [Larsi employees] are in self isolation,” said Zagashvili.

He said that in order to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus, citizens are undergoing thermal screening and tests are being conducted in the area.
