Georgia reports 4 new cases of coronavirus, 110 remain infected with COVID-19

Georgia has reported four new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 1,010.
One of the four new cases is imported (a truck driver), while three other new patients were in quarantine inside the country.
885 of the 1,010 patients have recovered, while 15 others have died.
As of today 110 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

10 more Georgian soldiers have tested positive for the coronavirus in Afghanistan who have been transported to Georgia earlier today via the German Air Force.
Eight of the 28 Georgian soldiers who tested positive for the coronavirus in Afghanistan on July 10 have recovered.
They soldiers are undergoing treatment in Gori hospital of central Georgia.

The Georgian parliament has allowed the government to impose movement, labour, migration, economic and other restrictions without the declaration of a state of emergency, that is without the approval of the legislative body until the end of the year.
A bill which was passed in May 2020 allowed the government to use the right only temporarily - until July 15, 2020, if there was the necessity taking the epidemiological situation into account.
The government has not used the right so far (since passing the bill) as the country continues to maintain a low infection rate.
Georgia will open borders unconditionally for Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia starting August.
All five countries have also opened borders for Georgia.
As the shock of the pandemic is expected to last until the end of the year the government of Georgia is taking actions to further support individuals affected by the crisis. "Despite all the positive tendencies, the shock of the pandemic will last until the end of the year. Therefore, we should reexamine every social group and allocate resources for citizens who are in special need. I also want to emphasise that as of today, 721,000 citizens have already received social assistance packages which had been created by the government", said Gakharia.

Georgia has reported eight new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 746. 576 of the 746 patients have recovered, while 12 others have died. As of today, 158 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia. All municipal transport systems – busses, metro, marshrutkas and cableways – have resumed today. Passengers must wear face masks while using the municipal transport.
How does the gov’t plan to support the construction sector?
The Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia has presented a fourth anti-crisis plan today worth 434 million GEL aimed at supporting the construction and development sector of Georgia. He said that the construction and development sector was one of the fastest growing sectors which employed 120,000 people in 2019.
Georgia has reported 11 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 1,039. 900 of the 1,039 patients have recovered, while 15 others have died. As of today 124 people remain infected with COVID-19 in the country. Forty-one Georgian citizens have been transported to Georgia for treatment so far. Thirty-eight of the 41 individuals were Georgian soldiers serving for NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.
