The Georgian Parliament has chosen international auditor company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to conduct an audit of the State Audit Office’s 2020-2021 report.
It is the second year since the changes to the structure of auditor selection and the auditor companies are chosen from the world’s ‘Big Four’, said Head of the Budget and Finance Committee Irakli Kovzanadze.
In 2019, the external audit of the State Audit Office was carried out by Deloitte Touche.
The ‘Big Four’ accounting and auditing firms are Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY) and KPMG.
The State Audit Office will carry out a financial inspection of Georgia’s State Security Service for the first time this year.
Experts from Deloitte have analysed Georgian fiscal, monetary and sectoral economic policies and given recommendations to the Georgian government at an online meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia earlier today.
The State Audit Office of Georgia reported yesterday that the state pension information management system (IMS), managed by the Healthcare Ministry’s Social Service Agency is ‘outdated’ and ‘fails to integrate’ with other systems of the agency.
The Georgian government is working with experts from the University of Cambridge and the University of London as well as Deloitte analysts and local experts to create a post-crisis economic plan and decide what steps they should take in order to improve the Georgian economy after the coronavirus lockdown.
