Georgia takes 15th place in global passport index amid coronavirus

Georgia has taken 15th place in the global passport power rank 2020 of Passport Index amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A real-time global-ranking of the world’s passports, Passport Index, ranks passports by their total mobility score, which includes visa-free and visa on arrival privileges. The higher the mobility score, the better global mobility its owner enjoys.

Those who hold Georgian passport can travel visa-free to 57 countries; visa on arrival at the border s available for them in 33 countries, while visa is required in 108 countries.
Georgia has taken 53rd place in the Henley Passport index, with citizens enjoying visa-free/visa-on-arrival access to 116 destinations, two countries more than in 2019.
Visas on arrival will now be available to Georgian citizens visiting Thailand from now on. Georgian citizens will be able to spend up to 15 days in Thailand after receiving a visa on arrival at the border.
From now on, Georgian citizens no longer need a visa to travel to the Schengen Zone. The regulation lifting visa requirements for Georgians entered into effect today, Tuesday, March 28.
Georgia has revealed more details of the country’s new visa regulations and announced which countries do not need a visa to enter Georgia and stay here for 360 days.
Georgia ranks 53rd of 167 countries on the Legatum Prosperity Index 2020 which assesses political, social, economic and environmental standings of l countries. Since 2010, Georgia has moved up the rankings by 11 places, says the index.
