Georgia has taken 53rd place in the Henley Passport index, with citizens enjoying visa-free/visa-on-arrival access to 116 destinations, two countries more than in 2019.

The Henley Passport Index is the original ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without first getting a visa.

As for Georgia’s neighbouring countries, Armenia took 81st (access to 62 destinations), Azerbaijan – 76 (67 destinations), Turkey – 55 (111 destinations), Russia 58 (118 destinations).

The top five countries according to the Hanley Passport index are:

  • Japan – 191 destinations
  • Singapore – 190 destinations
  • South Korea – 189 destinations
  • Germany – 189 destinations
  • Italy – 188 destinations

The ranking is based on data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world’s largest and most comprehensive database of travel information and is enhanced by extensive in-house research.

The Henley Passport Index is updated in real-time, as and when visa-policy changes come into effect.
