Georgia ranks 53rd of 167 countries on the Legatum Prosperity Index 2020 which assesses political, social, economic and environmental standings of l countries.

Georgian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Sophio Katsarava attended the index presentation in London on November 17 and said that 10 years ago Georgia faced the challenges of the Russia-Georgia war in 2008 and world economic crisis in 2009.
Today, Georgia is recognised as a stable, secure country. Today, Georgia is the only country in the region that has a free trade regime with both the EU and China. A free trade agreement with Britain will enter into force in January 2021, which will create even more opportunities for us to strengthen trade ties", Katsarava said.

Index shows that Georgia performs most strongly in the investment environment and governance but is weakest in natural environment.
The biggest improvement compared to a decade ago came in safety and security.
Georgia 12th in world and 6th in Europe
Georgia’s economic freedom score is 77.1, making its economy the 12th freest in the 2020 Index of Economic Freedom by the Heritage Foundation.
Transparency International has released its Corruption Perceptions Index 2019, with Georgia ranking 44th among 180 countries and territories across the world, standing on top of all Eastern European and Central Asian countries.In the index, which measures sector corruption according to experts and business people, Georgia has received 56 scores of total 100.
Georgia has taken 15th place in the global passport power rank 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. A real-time global-ranking of the world’s passports, Passport Index, ranks passports by their total mobility score.
The twelfth edition of the Democracy Index has ranked Georgia 89th among 167 independent states and two territories, with the score of 5.42 of total 10. With the score, which was 5.50 in 2018 ranking, Georgia remains in the category of ‘hybrid regimes.’ Of the neighbouring countries Armenia ranked 86th, Azerbaijan – 146th, Turkey – 110th and Russia – 134th.
Georgia has ranked 37th among 180 countries in the Global Sustainable Competitiveness Index. The Global Sustainable Competitiveness Index measures the sustainable competitiveness of countries by calculating 116 measurable, quantitative indicators derived from sources such as the World Bank, the IMF, and various UN agencies.
Georgia ranks 45th among 180 countries and territories across the world in the latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2020 published by the Transparency International, standing on top of all Eastern European and Central Asian countries.
For the first time Georgia was named among the top 20 European countries in the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) Report 2020, announces Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat). Georgia ranked 31st globally out of 187 countries, with an overall score of 69. The overall score is a combination of a data coverage subscore of 62 and a data openness subscore of 74.
