US Senator David Perdue says support for Georgia’s national interests and security issues will be reflected on a legislative level, namely in the National Defense Authorization Act, which Perdue named as ‘demonstration of the strong bipartisan support Georgia enjoys in US Congress’.
During a phone conversation with the US Senator Perdue, the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia talked about the importance of the further expansion of Georgia-US strategic partnership and cooperation in security, defence, trade and economy.

The parties also discussed the existing humanitarian crisis and critical security situation in Georgia’s Russian occupied regions. Senator Perdue reaffirmed the support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
During the phone conversation with Senator Perdue, the importance of Black Sea security for stable regional development and Georgia’s crucial role in this direction was mentioned as one of the most important issues of the US-Georgia partnership.
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia thanked the United States for its contribution in founding the Lugar Laboratory in Tbilisi, which is playing a leading role in the fight against the coronavirus in the country.
