3 Georgian citizens illegally detained near occupied Abkhazia

Three Georgian citizens were detained near the Russian-occupied Georgian region of Abkhazia.
Georgian news agency Interpressnews said the three were allegedly kidnapped last night from the Muzhava village in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, close to occupied Gali district.
The news agency added as well that the State Security Service of Georgia has activated a hotline and informed the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) about the incident.
The US is concerned by current developments at the occupation line, near the village of Chorchana, acting US Ambassador to Georgia Elisabeth Rood has stated earlier today, referring to the erection of new barriers by Russian-controlled occupation forces at the village of Chorchana, Khashuri municipality, on the Tbilisi-controlled territory earlier this month.
The occupying forces illegally detained a man and his wife living in the village of Khurvaleti near occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region. Malkhaz Vanishvili, 30, is the grandson of Davit Vanishvili, whose house and agricultural lands are divided in two by occupying forces for several years now.
Incidents of borderisation carried out by occupation forces in central Georgia's Kareli Municipality on Friday have been condemned in responses of the official Tbilisi as "destructive" acts amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
Well-known Georgian doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, who was sentenced to one year and nine months in Tskhinvali prison, was released today. The State Security Service of Georgia reported that he is now on Tbilisi-controlled territory now.
The Georgian State Security Service says that the hot line has been activated and the country’s international partners have been informed regarding the abduction of three Georgian citizens by the Russian-controlled occupation forces on June 6 near occupied Abkhazia.
