The Georgian national football league will exit its COVID-19 suspension later this month with a Tbilisi city derby resuming the championship.
Reopening behind closed doors, the tournament will see current champions Dinamo Tbilisi face Georgian Super Cup winners Saburtalo at Tbilisi's central Mikheil Meskhi Stadium on June 25.
The game will renew the league narrowed to 16 fixtures instead of 34 that remained when the competition was suspended during the pandemic.

The suspension came on March 11 and concerned all tournaments under the GFF banner - the National League, Leagues 2 and 3 as well as youth championships. The resumption is currently only planned for the top-tier National League.
While the Georgian Football Federation said the competition would resume behind closed doors, fixtures later in the season could see a reopening of stadiums to fans.
The GFF announced two rounds of medical testing for players before the reopening and said procedures for the resumption of the tournament would follow recommendations by the health ministry.
The teams involved in the National League had played two matchdays before the competition ground to a halt in March. Locomotive Tbilisi is leading the table with two wins and six points. Saburtalo and Dila are close behind on four points each.
