The de-facto government of the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region of Georgia has confirmed four new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number to 42 in the region.
30 of the 42 patients have recovered, while 164 individuals have been placed under quarantine in the region.
RES media outlet reports that among the newly infected individuals three are students of a Russian military academy who entered the region from Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia.
They were placed under quarantine in Tskhinvali region before symptoms of the virus manifested.
Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region confirmed its first case of the coronavirus on May 6.
