4 more coronavirus infections in Russian-occupied Tskhinvali, total cases increase to 42

The de-facto government of the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region of Georgia has confirmed four new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number to 42 in the region.
30 of the 42 patients have recovered, while 164 individuals have been placed under quarantine in the region.
RES media outlet reports that among the newly infected individuals three are students of a Russian military academy who entered the region from Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia.
They were placed under quarantine in Tskhinvali region before symptoms of the virus manifested.

The Russian-controlled Tskhinvali authorities have announced the closure of the last, Kartsmani crossing point in Sachkhere municipality, connecting the region with the rest of Georgia ‘to prevent the spread of coronavirus.’
In an interview with the Financial Times, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili stated that the Georgian government has not been able to give support to the residents of the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region during the Covid-19 outbreak.
