Russian-occupied Tskhinvali accuses Tbilisi, EUMM Georgia, of collecting biological materials of ‘its residents’

The de facto government of Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region has accused Tbilisi and the European Union Monitoring Mission of ‘secretly collecting biological materials of the South Ossetian (Tskhinvali) people, which serves the goal of continuing our genocide.’
The de facto Security Committee of Tskhinvali says that the biological materials were transported to Tbilisi Lugar Centre, the US-built medical facility (now fully administered by Georgia) demonised by Russia.
The de facto agency says that they have mentioned ‘Georgian ambulance cars at the border twice’, claiming that the EUMM ensured the ‘secretive movement of Georgian doctors.’
The EUMM Georgia has called the information ‘completely false’ and ‘yet another example of malicious and irresponsible disinformation targeted at EUMM Georgia.’
Ambulance cars have been present with EUMM patrols since its inception. They are a standard precautionary measure. It is part of our duty of care towards our staff that they accompany EUMM personnel so that they can swiftly provide the necessary help in case of need, such as a car accident. This is particularly important in remote areas where speedy medical support is difficult to obtain,” EUMM Georgia said.
The EUMM Georgia stated that the ambulance was clearly visible, ‘there was no secretive movement’.
Erik Hoeg, a senior Danish diplomat who has served as Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) to Georgia since December 2017, has ended his tenure. Prior to this, he was serving as Deputy Head of the EUMM Georgia since April 2015 and Acting Head of Mission since September 2017.

De facto authorities of Georgia’s Russian-controlled Tskhinvali region say that the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) monitors were held yesterday as they “illegally crossed the border in the village of Tsnelisi (Kareli Municipality, under the Russian control),” adding that the action by the EUMM was “provocative.”
The European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM), which is the only mission deployed in Georgia after the Russia-Georgia 2008 war, has provided details regarding the current tension at Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region ‘‘due to the level of press interest and to dispel inaccurate reports.”
Georgian Foreign Ministry says that Russia has been particularly active in its creeping annexation of more Georgian territories over the past two months and its (Russia’s) fight against the US-built Lugar Centre in Tbilisi has become intense.
Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region is studying a site near the village of Tsnelisi ‘where a Georgian drone violated a border on June 2 – 3,’ as the drone ‘could have been used to spread the coronavirus to the region.’
EUMM Georgia, the only foreign mission in the country which monitors the occupation lines at the two Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali occupied by Russia, has received new VAMTAC SK95 trucks which are able to access difficult locations.
