EUMM Georgia, the only foreign mission in the country which monitors the occupation lines at the two Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali occupied by Russia, has received new VAMTAC SK95 trucks which are able to access difficult locations.

EUMM is an unarmed civilian monitoring mission.

Over 200 civilian monitors were sent by the EU to Georgia following the Russia-Georgia 2008 war.

Russia and de facto authorities do not allow the mission to enter the occupied territories.

The de facto authorities frequently criticise the mission and raise various accusations which Tbilisi and the mission label as ‘groundless and false.’
