Georgia reports 6 new cases of coronavirus, Marneuli reopens after 56 days

Georgia has reported six new cases of coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 701. 

432 of the 701 patients have recovered, while 12 others have died.

As of May 18, 257 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

Today, the municipality of Marneuli in eastern Georgia, which has been under lockdown for 56 days, has opened. 

However, curfew in the municipality and nationwide remains in force.  

Starting today, the restriction which banned the gathering of more than three people, has been lifted. However, gatherings of more than 10 people are banned.

Starting today beauty salons and aesthetic medicine centers have opened. However, customers will have to book services beforehand and wear a face mask. 

Starting today, people who earlier passed the theoretical exam for a driving licence, will be able to take the practical exam. 

Bolnisi and Tetritskaro municipality remain under lockdown. 

Health officials say that unlike other regions of Georgia, inhabitants of Bolnisi municipality refused to stick to recommendations and restrictions. 

Three of the six new cases were from Bolnisi.
