Pope Francis spoke with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili by phone and said he will pray for Georgia on May 14 in his prayer to save the word from the pandemic and named Georgia as a country with ‘great spirituality’ adding that the Georgian nation is ‘precious’ to him.
Zurabishvili and Pope Francis discussed the importance of solidarity amid the coronavirus crisis. Zurabishvili sent kind regards to the Pope from the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II.
While speaking by phone, the sides also discussed the global environmental situation, which is one of the main priorities of the Pope.
Zurabishvili noted that the environment and the protection of the environment is also very important for Georgia.
