One Georgian citizen has died in France after being infected with coronavirus, the deputy head of the National Disease Control Centre Paata Imnadze said earlier today.
Imnadze has confirmed that a young woman has died in Strasbourg and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working on the case.
Six Georgian citizens died as of the virus in different coronavirus-hit areas, four among them suffered from underlying illnesses.
Georgia has reported 12 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 230.
Of the 230, 54 individuals have recovered, three people have died and two others were foreign citizens who left the country last month.
As of today, Georgia has 171 active cases of the virus.
4,829 are under quarantine and 410 in hospitals in the country.
More than 1.6 million people have been infected with the virus worldwide as of April 9, 95,766 have died of the virus, while 357,003 have recovered.
