Municipal buses in Tbilisi will soon also have female drivers.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at a city hall session today that 21 women have been trained and received category D driver’s licenses that will allow them to operate public transport vehicles.
‘Six women will be added to the Tbilisi Transport Company to drive public transport vehicles,” he added.
Kaladze said the training programme was carried out with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
He also stated female drivers will be placed on new buses.
