The latest statistical data from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) shows that every 276 people in 100,000 have contracted the flu in Georgia.
This proportion was 221 people in every 100,000 last week.
The Head of the NCDC Amiran Gamkrelidze forecasts that the level off flu infection will start decreasing in coming weeks due to school holidays.
He said the situation will become an epidemic in case the level of injected people reaches 500 per every 100,000. However, he did not say that there are any such risks that have been identified.
Most of the people who are suffering from the flu currently are infected by H1N1 also known as swine flu.
The symptoms are almost the same as seasonal flu and may involve cough, fever, sore throat, body and headaches and fatigue.
