Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili met with Georgian doctor Vazha Gaprindahsvili and his family at the presidential palace today.
Well-known doctor Gaprindashvili, who was sentenced back on December 20 to one year and nine months in the Russian occupied Georgian region of Tskhinvali, was released after 49 days of detention.
President Zurabishvili, who had been actively calling for the international community to contribute in releasing Gaprindashvili, wished the released doctor and his family a Happy New Year and professional success.

Today, the Gaprindashvili family met with Orthodox Patriarch Ilia II as well.
