In January-November 2019 exports from Georgia to the EU countries increased by 14.2 per cent compared to the same period of last year and reached $752.3 million, while imports decreased 7.4 per cent and amounted to $2.09 billion show preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Georgia's top trading partners were Turkey ($1.63 billion), Russia ($1.32 billion) and China ($982.4 million) in January-November 2019.
In January-November 2019 the share of the top ten trading partners in Georgia’s total external trade turnover amounted to 66.8 per cent.
In January-November 2019 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in total exports of Georgia amounted to 72.9 per cent.
In January-November the top export partners were Russia ($454 million), Azerbaijan ($444.6 million) and Armenia ($353.9 million).
In January-November 2019 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in total imports of Georgia amounted to 65.8 per cent.
However, top import partners were Turkey ($1.4 billion), Russia ($868 million) and China ($785.3 million).
The external trade turnover with European Union (EU) countries decreased 2.5 per cent year-on-year (y/y) and amounted to $2.84 billion.
The share of exports to EU countries constituted 22.2 per cent of total exports, while the share of imports constituted 25.7 per cent of total imports.
The external trade turnover with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries increased by 0.9 per cent and reached $3.97 billion.
Exports came to $1.79 billion (21 per cent higher y/y) while imports sank to $2.17 billion (11.3 per cent lower y/y).
The share of exports to CIS countries constituted 53.1 per cent of total exports, while the share of imports equalled 26.8 per cent of total imports.

Overall, Georgia’s external trade turnover increased to $11.5 billion (1.4 per cent higher y/y) in January-November 2019.
The value of exports increased by 11.7 per cent and reached $3.38 billion, while imports decreased 2.3 per cent and amounted to $8.12 billion.
The trade deficit of Georgia in January-November 2019 amounted to $4.74 billion which is 41.2 per cent of trade turnover.
