Giorgi Rurua, the founder and shareholder of Mtavari Arkhi TV, has been detained for illegal possession and carrying of a firearm, the press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said.

Nika Gvaramia, the director of  Mtavari Arkhi also has written about Rurua’s arrest on his Facebook page, and said that the  “firearm was planted on Giorgi Rurua”.  

Gvaramia writes that there is no time to wait. 

Either the usurper should go or he should take away our homeland”, said Nika Gvaramia about ruling party leader Bidzina Ivanishvili.

The MIA says illegal possession and carrying of a firearm is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to three years.
