Working with partner business ombudsmen will strengthen Georgian companies in foreign markets, noted Business Ombudsman Irakli Lekvinadze at an international business conference “Creating Enabling Environment for Sustainable Business in Eastern Europe and Central Asia” earlier today.
International mechanisms for protection of business rights and the importance of corporate responsibility for the development of business sector were discussed at the conference.
Business ombudsmen from Poland, Ukraine, Albania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan were attending the conference.
Memorandums of understanding were also signed within the framework of the event with the business ombudsman offices of Albania, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Poland.
[It is important to work out] new levers of protection for Georgian companies in foreign markets. In cooperation with partner business ombudsmen we will strengthen Georgian companies in foreign markets”, said Irakli Lekvinadze.
We are very interested in the experience of [foreign partners] in terms of investments and mechanisms of business rights protection”, Lekvinadze said.
The conference was organised by the Office of the Georgian Business Ombudsman and the Civil Development Agency (CiDA) and held with the financial support of the government of Sweden.
