German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will pay an official visit to Georgia on October 6, the Georgian president’s press office reports.
Steinmeier will visit the country with his wife Elke Budenbender and hold his first meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili at the Atoneli Presidential Palace.
He is also scheduled to meet with Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia, Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze and Catholics Patriarch Ilia II.
While in Georgia Steinmeier will view several wineries in the Kakheti region of western Georgia, Alaverdi Monastery and the palace of King Erekle II.
Previously Steinmeier visited Georgia in 2016, when he served as foreign minister of Germany.
