A work-in progress film project by two Georgian directors has been shortlisted by the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), an international platform for supporting film production.
Filmmakers Nino Orjonikidze and Vano Arsenishvili could be set to benefit from the programme for their documentary The Platform, which was picked among 20 in-production projects for HAF.
The Platform comes from production company Artefact Production, established 10 years ago in Tbilisi by the two directors. The company focuses on artistic documentary and experimental film production and transmedia projects.
The documentary project was previously shortlisted for in-development funding from a fund of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in 2018 and the Dok Leipzig co-production market in 2016.
Nino Orjonikidze is a documentary filmmaker. She is the author of works including English Teacher (Best Documentary Focus Caucasus – Cinedoc 2013), Altzaney (2009) and The Bridge.
She was nominated for prizes at a number of international festivals including DOK Leipzig and Krakow Film Festival.

Vano Arsenishvili is the co-director, cinematographer and editor for English Teacher, Altzaney and The Bridge, also working as the director for Artefact Production.
The HAF forum is the leading film project market in Asia, bringing filmmakers with upcoming projects to Hong Kong to seek co-production opportunities with top film financiers, producers, bankers, distributors and buyers.
Attracting more than 1,000 filmmakers from at least 35 countries, around 25 to 30 projects are selected annually to participate in the three-day event.
