One was arrested for attempted fraud several days ago.
Police reported that the detainee promised an Iranian national to help obtain a Georgian ID card and passport in exchange for $7,000.
Initially, the detainee received 440 GEL ($153/€136) from the citizen of Iran. Afterwards, police officers detained him.
The detainee faces from four to seven years in jail.
Earlier on July 17, Georgian police detained two for using a large amount of counterfeit $100 bills who brought the banknotes from Turkey and used them in Georgia’s western region of Adjara.
Law enforcers seized $10,000 in counterfeit banknotes as evidence.
