Georgia’s Black Sea resort town of Kobuleti is sporting a sturdier boardwalk this summer season.

A 1.2 km section of Kobuleti’s boardwalk was restored and renovated to allow visitors to enjoy a better-protected beach as the old boardwalk was unable to hold back storm waves.

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Infrastructure Minister Maya Tskitishvili visited the renovated boardwalk in Kobuleti today.

The construction of one section of the Kobuleti boardwalk has been completed and starting September 15 we will resume work to ensure that next summer the whole boardwalk will be renovated in accordance with modern standards. It is important to raise the tourist potential of Kobuleti”, said Bakhtadze.

Tskitishvili said that with similar projects “we give possibilities to local businesses” to create new spaces, stores and receive more income from tourists.
