The price of food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 3.9% in June 2019, show the latest inflation data by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In particular, prices decreased for the following subgroups:
In the meantime, prices increased for sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (1.3%), also for milk, cheese and eggs (0.7 percent).
Prices went up by 0.9% in the group of transport. The prices increased for both:
Health-related cost also increased by 0.8%. The prices increased for medical products, appliances and equipment (1.9 percent).
Overall, Georgia’s monthly inflation posted a one per cent decrease in June 2018, while the annual inflation rate amounted to 4.3%.
