No Georgian soldiers have been killed or injured during a deadly blast in Kabul, Afghanistan earlier today, killing at least 10 and leaving dozens injured, the Georgian Defence Ministry reports.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast and a follow up attack in Kabul's downtown area near the ministry of defence.

The bomb went off during morning rush hour in Kabul when the streets were crowded.

Taliban spokesman Zabuhullah Mujahid said in a statement that terrorists attacked the ministry, not civilians.

Georgia is one of the largest NATO contributors to Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, with more than 800 soldiers.
