Aerial filming underway to create 3D map of Tbilisi

Aerial shooting is underway to create a 3D map of Tbilisi by means of aerial photographs.

Tbilisi City Hall reports the filming with a Cessna 172 aircraft will continue until July 5.

Israeli company Offtek is the aircraft owner as it won the tender to conduct the work.

 As a result, Tbilisi municipality will have high-resolution orthographic photos and 3D map model,” Tbilisi City Hall reports.

Tbilisi City Hall says architecture, urban, environmental and other institutions will carry out their work better with the help of the map and photos.

The 3D map and aerial photos will be available at maps.tbilisi.gov.ge.
