Georgian director Dito Tsintsadze’s latest work Inhale-Exhale has won the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Debuting in the competition at the major regional festival, the film is Tsintsadze’s first work in two decades shot solely in Georgia, and follows a story by acclaimed Georgian author Nestan (Nene) Kvikinadze.
Featuring actor Salome Demuria was also awarded as the best female character.

In the screenplay, Irina, a former doctor, returns home following a long prison sentence, only to find herself having to regain the trust of those around her, to start a new life.
The Shanghai International Festival runs between June 15-24.

Georgia has selected a film titled ‘Shindisi’ to be presented for the Oscar nomination today. The film, directed by Georgian film director Dimitri Tsintsadze, is about the 2008 August War as it took place in the village of Shindisi, which is located in the vicinity of the Russia-occupied Tskhinvali region, Georgia.
