Georgian Health Ministry denies death of one injured during Tbilisi protests

The Georgian Ministry of Health has denied death of one person who got injured on June 20 when Georgian police dispersed protest rally in central Tbilisi.

Russian media outlets, namely Euronews Russia, Lenta.ru, REN.TV and others have reported that one of the protestors, injured in eye, died in a hospital.

Head of the Georgian Emergency Service Avtandil Talakvadze has also denied the reports and stated that 54 people still remain hospitalised, two of them are in intensive care department.

We permanently observe the health of each of the injured,” Talakvadze has added.

240 people were injured during Tbilisi protest rally including 80 law enforcers.

The protest rally was triggered by the presence of Russian MPs in the Georgian parliament on June 20.

It was dispersed after protestors decided to break into the parliament building.
