A Georgian wine tasting and seminar was held in Warsaw, the capital of Poland this week, the Georgian National Wine Agency has announced.
The event which was attended by journalists, importers and wine writers tasted wines from these nine Georgian wine companies: Vaziani Winery, Gevelli, Vino Martville, Mandili, Telavi Wine Cellar, Kindzmarauli Marani, Gotsa Family Wines, Amiran Vepkhvadze’s Wine Cellar, Nika Bakhia Marani.
At the event the guests were able to get information about the history and culture of Georgian wine and traditional method of qvevri (a large amphora-like clay vessel) winemaking.
Poland is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine and is in the top five list of Georgian wine importer countries.
In January-March 2018, up to 741,000 bottles of wine were exported to Poland, which is 32 percent higher than in the same period of 2017.
