17,517 families living in 80 Georgian villages and one town will soon have access to natural gas, the Government of Georgia has announced.
The villages which will have natural gas provision are located in the following 19 municipalities: Dedoplistskaro, Kobuleti, Lanchkhuti, Chokhatauri, Terjola, Tskaltubo, Lagodekhi, Dusheti, Mtskheta, Senaki, Bolnisi, Gori, Kaspi, Kareli, Khashuri, Gardabani, Zugdidi and Khobi.
Also, natural gas will be provided in the remaining districts of the small town of Martvili (in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti province of Western Georgia), after which the whole town will have access to natural gas.
These works will be financed from the state budget and 39.5 million GEL (about $16.56m/€13.48m*) will be spent on it.
Natural gas became available to 80,000 households in Georgia in between 2013-2017 thanks to the Government’s efforts to ensure reliable access to natural gas.
