Tbilisi City Hall has revealed 500 construction violations in Georgia’s capital city, 272 of which resulted in fines and 120 construction projects were suspended.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said today that it is necessary to strengthen the supervision and monitoring of construction violations that damage the capital.
To this end, our team has prepared draft amendments and sent them to the parliament. I think that these changes will make supervision more effective. I think that the legislation needs to be toughened to make supervision effective”, said Kaladze.
The mayor also stated that it is necessary to toughen fines for violations of safety norms.
Earlier, on February 19, Kaladze announced that the fine for construction violations may soon amount to 30,000 GEL (about $12,270/€9,875*) without an initial warming.
