Georgian wines win gold at Uzbekistan’s ‘Vine East’

Georgian wines won gold at the Vine East wine festival held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, on November 21, announces Georgia’s Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

Wines ‘Akhmetis Tsiteli’, ‘Solomnishvili Winery’ and ‘Kvevris Kisi’ won gold medals, while ‘Simoniseuli’ wine received a special award. 

The festival provided a professional platform for dialogue between domestic and foreign winemakers, representatives of science, education and distribution.

Famous domestic and foreign wineries, oenologists, sommeliers and experts from the alcohol and wine sector, representatives of international organisations and the diplomatic corps attended the wine festival.

Guests and participants of the ‘Vine East’ were from Georgia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Russia, France, Japan and other countries.

Within the festival a conference about innovative technologies and modern tendencies in the winery field was held where the Director of Georgia’s Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture Levan Ujmajuridze also delivered a speech.
