Georgia’s iconic winter resorts of Gudauri, Bakuriani, Tetnuldi and Goderdzi are inviting guests to enjoy an unforgettable winter adventure when the snow season opens in December.
More specifically, the winter season will open on 8 December in Goderdzi resort, on 15 December in Gudauri and on 22 December in Tetnuldi-Hatsvali and Kokhta-Mitarbi.
This year Gudauri will celebrate its 30-year anniversary, inviting winter enthusiasts to enjoy new infrastructure and adventure during the 2018-2019 snow season.
Visitors will experience six new ski lifts. One existing ski lift will be reconstructed.
Moreover, artificial snow making systems will be launched in Gudauri this season to ensure there is a proper snow base on the ski tracks of the resort.

Georgia has already started preparations for the 2019 ski season, installing artificial snow making systems in the country’s leading winter resort of Gudauri.
Georgia’s mountain resorts are becoming popular tourist spots, hosting 514,874 visitors during the winter season in 2017-2018, which is a 25 percent year-on-year (y/y) increase. The number of tourists in Georgia’s mountain resorts of Gudauri, Bakuriani, Goderdzi and Svaneti has increased by 491 percent since 2012.
The winter season will open this weekend in Georgia’s highland region of Svaneti and in its central town of Mestia, so get out your jackets, put on your gloves and get out there to experience an unforgettable winter adventure.

It's official! Georgia’s ski resorts of Bakuriani and Gudauri will host the 2023 Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships. It marks the first time in the history of the International Ski Federation (FIS) that Georgia will host a World Championship and with more than 25 medal events planned, it is sure to be an eventful World Championships.
