Georgian soldier saves woman from drowning

A Georgian soldier saved the life of a drowning young woman in Didube district, Tbilisi yesterday.
The young woman was drowning in the river Mtkvari when she was rescued by serviceman Bachuki Iremadze last evening. She sustained no injuries.
Iremadze was walking nearby when he witnessed the woman struggling in the water. Before the a lifeguard managed to arrive, Iremadze jumped from the Didube Bridge and took the young woman out of the river.

The Minister of Defence Levan Izoria personally met the soldier early today and praised him for his heroism. Izoria rewarded the serviceman with a Sig Sauer firearm.

Firefighters have saved a 16-year-old girl in Gori, in the Shida Kartli region of Georgia today. A fire broke out on the first floor of a residential building and locals called the emergency number 112. Firefighters, police officers and emergency brigades appeared at the scene without delay.
Georgian lifeguards have rescued 17 people on the Black Sea coast today – amongst whom were 12 foreign nationals and five minors. A 2-3 magnitude storm was recorded on Ureki beach today. Red flags were put out to inform the people that swimming conditions were dangerous.
Two Georgian citizens who have been missing since December 2 have been found dead in the Jandara Lake, the Georgian Emergency Management Service reports.
