Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze have sent wishes of peace and success to Ukraine on its Independence Day.
Both statements stressed that the country is still fighting for its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“We, Georgians, understand very well this pain and at the same time the price for independence and freedom. I am sure the day will come when both the Georgian and Ukrainian nations will celebrate freedom and independence within the framework of restoring their territorial integrity and the defence of sovereignty,” reads the PM’s statement.
The message was also published on Bakhtadze’s official Twitter account:
“I strongly believe that with united efforts we will overcome the difficulties and will achieve success on the path of our countries to European and Euro-Atlantic integration to guarantee peace and stability,” states the President of Georgia.
