Thunder struck a 49-year-old Russian citizen at 4,300 meters above sea level today on Mkinvatrsveri peak located near the Georgia-Russia border, in the eastern, mountainous part of the country.
The Georgian Emergency Management Service says that the health condition of the man is satisfactory and his health is not at risk.
Mkinvartsveri, also known as Kazbegi Mountain, is the third-highest peak in Georgia after Mount Shkhara and Janga and the seventh-highest summit in the Caucasus Mountains.
Its height is 5,047 meters.
