Four years have passed since the signing of the historic Association Agreement deal between Georgia and the EU.
Georgia has received more than €400 million in financial support from the EU since the signing of the agreement on June 27, 2014, the Georgian Foreign Ministry says.
The signing of the agreement has moved Georgia-EU relations to a new stage and began Georgia’s political and economic integration with the EU,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry says.

The 500 million people EU market opened up for Georgian products in 2014, which boosted Georgia-EU trade-economic cooperation, including the export of Georgian products to the EU,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
The Foreign Ministry says that Georgia has progressed much in terms of legal and institutional integration with the EU and has become a member of Europe’s energy union.

Georgians can now travel visa free to the EU’s Schengen Zone and Georgia has launched high-level dialogue with the EU on security and other issues,” the Foreign Ministry reports.
The Foreign Ministry says that the Association Agreement has strengthened European values in Georgia and vital reforms have been carried out for human rights protection, the development of democratic institutions, the rule of law, against corruption and organised crime, border management, agriculture and environmental protection.
