The seventh meeting of the EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee (PAC) is being held in Tbilisi on September 18-19.
Chaired by UK MEP Sajjad Karim and Chair of the Georgian Parliament Committee for European Integration Tamar Khulordava, the committee meeting is discussing the Georgia-EU relationship, the implementation of the Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), democratic processes and human and minority rights.
Other major topics discussed at the meeting include the occupation of the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) by the Russian Federation, political and judicial reforms and green economy.

Before opening the meeting, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with a delegation from the European Parliament.
Georgia continues the process of integration and institutional and legislative harmonisation with the EU, Irakli Kobakhidze stressed after meeting with the PAC members.
The EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee was established in 2014, following Georgia's signature of the Association Agreement. The committee is composed of members from the Parliament of Georgia and the European Parliament and meets twice a year, once in Brussels and once in Tbilisi.
