A total of 9,000 families in Georgia’s high mountainous region of Adjara will soon be supplied with natural gas as the second stage of the gasification project is being launched.

So far the gasification project has covered Adjara’s Khelvachauri, Keda and Shuakhevi municipalities where 11,000 families will receive gas by the end of autumn of this year.

As for the second stage of the project in order to supply other municipalities of Adjara with natural gas it was decided to construct a new gas pipeline, announced Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili at today’s government meeting.

As Kvirikashvili said 262,000 families received natural gas in 2013-2017, including 13,459 families living close to Georgia’s occupied regions.
