Georgian Parliament Speaker visits Poland

Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze is holding high-level meetings in Warsaw, Poland.
Kobakhidze is in Poland to participate in the Summit of Speakers of the Central and Eastern European Parliaments running from May 17-20.
On the sideline of the event he held meetings with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Marshal of the Polish Sejm Marek Kuchcinski, Parliament Speaker of Montenegro Ivan Brajovic and the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Djordje Milicevic.
Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and parliament’s role in supporting this path were the focus of Kobakhidze’s meetings.
Within the framework of the Summit Kobakhidze also spoke at the Round Table organised by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation on the topic, "Georgia after NATO Warsaw Summit”.

The delegates at the Summit are discussing the role of National Parliaments in international policy, regional security, North-South Axis infrastructure and values of Central and Eastern Europe.
In the framework of the event Kobakhidze is scheduled to meet more European officials including the Marshal of the Polish Senate Stanislaw Karczewski, Speaker of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy, Speaker of Chamber of Deputies of Romania Liviu Dragnea, Speaker of Senate of Romania Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Laszlo Kover.
Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze has been elected as a Member of the Board of the Progressive Alliance – an international alliance of social-democratic and progressive political parties and organisations, unifying up to 120 organisations worldwide.
