Kobakhidze said that his election to the role means that the ruling party of Georgia - Georgian Dream – will strengthen its international links and cooperation with other parliaments worldwide.

Other Board Members of the Alliance are high officials from various European states, including Martin Schulz – Chair of the German Social-Democratic Party and the candidate to the position of Chancellor, Stefan Lofven - Swedish Prime Minister and Antonio Costa – Portuguese Prime Minister.

"It is the greatest honor to be a member of the Board of this organisation. This will help the Georgian Dream party intensify its international ties and it will also help Georgia be better represented on the international level”, Kobakhidze said.

While in Berlin, Kobakhidze held other high-level bilateral meetings, including with Prime Minister Lofven of Sweden.
