To meet growing demand for air travel, Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport is getting ready to move into the next phase of expansion.
TAV Georgia, the airport’s operator, announced today that steady progress has been made with the construction of new arrival terminals.
TAV Georgia, the daughter company of Turkey-based TAV Airports Holding has operated Tbilisi International Airport since 2005 and has been responsible for the airport’s reconstruction.
The construction of new arrival terminals officially began in June 2016.
The new arrival terminal will have the capacity to receive 3.25 million passengers per year.

Last year more than 1.8 million passengers passed through Tbilisi International Airport, official figures show.

As part of the airport’s renovation, the main runway underwent renovation in 2016 and was put into operation in July of the same year.
