A wide range of cheese products, live demonstration of their production and an unveiling of a state initiative for promoting Georgian cheese will be on the agenda for visitors of this year's Festival of Cheese, opening in Tbilisi tomorrow.
About 50 local cheese producers are set to exhibit and sell their products on the capital's Rose Square during day-long activities of the event on Saturday.
The exhibits will feature varying cheese types reflecting local peculiarities of their production in Georgia's different provinces.

Visitors will be offered to discover both traditional cheese products made with time-tested recipes and contemporary European brand types made in Georgia.
Food artisans will hold demonstrations of the process of producing cheese, while a special stall will host those interested in tasting products presented at the event.
The festival will also host unveiling of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia's project for promoting Georgian cheese throughout next year.

The move has been made following successful initiatives for raising awareness on local winemaking over the recent years.
The Ministry said the 2018 celebration is aimed to complement the history of Georgian wine with the 8,000-year-long heritage of producing cheese in the country.
The Festival of Cheese is held annually in Tbilisi, with the 2017 event marking its 12th edition.
