Georgian agriculture expecting 14 million GEL in French investments

French specialists are helping Georgia in meat production and farm arrangement issues, announced Georgia’s Ministry of Agriculture.

It is planned to implement a pilot project within which two farms are planned to be built in Georgia, where French specialists will conduct training courses and will share experience with local farmers about the disease control,” read the press release by the Agriculture Ministry.

As the ministry reported the "French side” will invest 14 million GEL (about $5.52m/€4.67m*) in building two farms for 400 cattle.

Furthermore, the Georgian market will be supplied with new meat. Georgian farmers will be given the opportunity to sell more corn, barley and wheat. This project will contribute significantly to the development of Georgia’s livestock farming,” read the press release.

During the past year French specialists explored the development of the cattle-breeding industry in Georgia. Based on the research findings they also created recommendations for further developments in the sector.
