Georgian President discusses agricultural development with farmers

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met with farmers at the Presidential Palace today.

Chairperson of Georgian Farmers' Association Nino Zambakhidze spoke about new and ongoing agricultural projects, including:

• Farmers’ advisory;
• The Georgian farmers’ distribution company;
• Mobile application "Argonaut”;
• "Path to Farming” manual.

President Margvelashvili believes agricultural development is the response to some of the challenges Georgia is facing nowadays:

• Distribution of local products;
• Stability of currency exchange;
• Employment.

He further encouraged youth to think about professional education in agriculture thus to contribute to strengthening and developing the field.
