Fire extinguished on mountain in Tusheti

A fire that broke out last week has been fully extinguished along the mountains of the village of Khakhabo in Tusheti in northeastern Georgia, Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.

The Ministry’s Emergency Service and Special Tasks Department has taken care to prevent the further escalation of the wildfire, while the National Forestry Agency has once again inspected the territory.

Several teams of emergency device are staying on the ground with foresters to monitor the situation.

Firemen, fire engines and helicopters have been fighting forest fires at different locations across Georgia for more than a week.
